Championship Defense Schemes

Hello, my name is Pete Pappas and I have served as the defensive coordinator for our football team over the past 11 years.  We have been fortunate to win 7 state championships in Division 1 (Big School Division). Our championship years were 2010, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

With a background in coaching and a deep respect for teamwork, I strive to constantly grown and learn.  I am blessed to have worked alongside great coaches including our current head football coach, Tom Lombardo. I also try to bring the best out of those I work with, both on and off the field. My commitment to excellence and fostering a winning mentality has been a cornerstone of my coaching philosophy.

When I'm not on the field, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, celebrating life's big and small moments, and looking forward to new adventures.

Confusing the QB with 5 Across Coverage Concepts

In this course, we break down a highly effective defensive package designed to disrupt the quarterback’s decision-making process. Boasting an 93% success rate, this scheme forces quarterbacks to make post-snap reads instead of relying on a clean pre-snap picture - neutralizing even the most skilled passers we’ve faced during our championship runs.

While this package thrives on third downs, it’s also been a game-changer in two-minute situations, finishing out games, and obvious passing downs. You’ll get an in-depth look at five unique coverage patterns, each supported by four complementary coverages that keep offenses guessing.

By the end of this session, you’ll have the tools to add an unpredictable, quarterback-confusing element to your defense - helping you shut down high-powered offenses when it matters most.
