FAST BUBBLE SCREEN SYSTEM FOR COACHES

A comprehensive fast bubble screen system designed for high-tempo offenses. The system uses simple numbering and formation calls that allow coaches to attack any part of the field quickly and efficiently.

FORMATION AND NUMBERING SYSTEM

The base formation is "Ace" (back on right) or "Ace Far" (back on left). Players are numbered outside-in like defensive alignments: #1, #2, #3 on each side. The 40s series goes to the offensive right, while 50s series goes to the offensive left. This makes play calling extremely simple - "Ace 41" means throw the fast screen to receiver #1 on the right side.

PLAY CALLING STRUCTURE

From any formation, coaches can call screens to any eligible receiver by number. Examples include 41, 42, 43 for receivers, and 43F or 44F for swing passes to the back. The same system works from trips formations, giving coaches the ability to attack 41, 42, 43, 44F to the right or 51, 52, 53, 54F to the left.

BLOCKING CONCEPTS

Linemen execute "rip and run" technique, blocking outside zone toward the sideline and climbing to safeties. The running back always comes across to provide additional blocking. Receivers use "most dangerous man" technique on the perimeter - not looking for knockout blocks, but simply getting in the way and covering up defenders to allow the ball carrier to reach the sideline.

EXECUTION KEYS

Receivers must come "flat and fast" to create proper spacing and timing. The quarterback throws to the upfield shoulder for optimal ball placement. The system emphasizes tempo - snapping the ball quickly before the defense can adjust. The goal is 6+ yards and getting out of bounds or to the sideline immediately.

SCREEN AND GO CONCEPT

Any screen call can be tagged with "Fox" to convert it into a screen-and-go concept. The receiver shows the screen action with shoulder shrugs and hand positioning, then breaks vertical for easy touchdowns when defenders bite on the screen fake.

PHILOSOPHY AND BENEFITS

This system is designed as a "day one install" that creates easy completions, forces defenses to defend sideline-to-sideline, and generates positive yardage against teams playing soft coverage. Coach McManus emphasizes that any receiver can execute these screens successfully when there's "grass" (open space) available, making it an ideal weapon against conservative defensive schemes.
